Gout

A form of inflammatory arthritis caused by a buildup of uric acid crystals in a joint, most classically the big toe, causing sudden, severe pain, swelling, and redness. Attacks are triggered by high uric acid levels, and both acute attacks and long-term uric acid control are treatable with medication and dietary changes.
