Dans cet article
Unlike high blood pressure, low blood pressure often does cause noticeable symptoms, particularly when it drops suddenly.
Common Symptoms
- Dizziness or lightheadedness, especially when standing up
- Fainting or near-fainting
- Blurred vision
- Fatigue
- Difficulty concentrating
- Nausea
Signs of a Dangerous Drop
A sudden, severe drop in blood pressure can be a medical emergency, especially if accompanied by cold, clammy skin, rapid shallow breathing, a weak and rapid pulse, or confusion — these can indicate shock, a life-threatening condition.
Simple Self-Care for Lightheadedness
If you feel dizzy or lightheaded without any of the dangerous signs above, sitting or lying down and raising your legs can help, and rising slowly from sitting or lying down helps prevent it from happening again.
When Symptoms Are Just Individual Variation
If you consistently have blood pressure readings below 90/60 but feel completely well, this is often simply your normal baseline rather than a medical problem requiring treatment.
Avertissement
This guide is for general education only and does not diagnose or recommend treatment for any individual. If you have fainting, confusion, or signs of shock along with low blood pressure, seek emergency medical care immediately.
Questions fréquentes
Is dizziness always a sign of low blood pressure?
Not necessarily — dizziness has many possible causes. But dizziness that occurs specifically when standing up is a classic sign worth checking with a blood pressure reading.
